Broadview Energy has appealed against the recent decision by Stratford District Council to refuse planning permission for a 60m meteorological mast on land between Bishop's Itchington and Knightcote. The Parish Council will be considering this matter further at its meeting on 11 January 2010. For more information about the appeal please use the link on our "Planning News & Advice" page.

Bishop's Itchington Parish Council attains Quality Status

The Quality Parish and Town Council Scheme aims to provide a benchmark minimum standard for local councils across the country. We are pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded Quality Status. Quality Councils are expected to :

  • be representative of and actively involve all parts of their community
  • be effectively and properly managed, with members and officers upholding a high standard of conduct
  • work closely with voluntary and community sector groups, and articulate the community's needs and wishes through effective communications
  • and work in partnership with other local authorities and agencies and, depending on their size, be able to deliver local services which give the best deal for their community

Public Consultation - Proposed Plans for Corner of Playing Field

Over the last few months, the village Biodiversity Group has been working very hard to clear the rubbish from the far corner of the playing field. They have prepared a plan for new planting, and creation of habitats for amphibians and mini-beasts. Benches and an interpretation board along with fruit trees also form part of the proposal. It is hoped this area can be transformed into a pleasant place for residents to walk and rest a while.

The Parish Council hopes to formally approve the plans at the next Parish Council meeting on 11 January 2010 and welcomes comments from members of the public. You can view the plans here by downloading the pdf on this page. They are also on display on the notice board outside the Post Office. If you have any comments to make, please contact the Clerk before 11 January.
