Special Parish Council Meeting

A special meeting has been called to discuss the planning application for the proposed wind farm on land between Bishop's Itchington and Knightcote. There will be an extended public forum to allow members of the public to fully express their views on this planning application. Following the public forum, the parish council will consider its response to the application. All members of the public and press are welcome to attend.

Village Litter Pick - from 2.30pm, Saturday, 26 May 2012

Please come and help us give the village a Big Tidy Up in time for the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Meet at the playing field at 2.30pm. Please contact Alison Biddle, 01926 811394 or Simon Tagg-Wilkinson, 01926 614 482, for more information.

Faster Broadband

A public meeting took place in January which was attended by 50 local residents. The Head of Customer Access at Stratford District Council, Balvinder Heran, gave a presentation which explained how SDC and its partner organisations plan to deliver a faster and more reliable broadband service to rural areas like Bishop's Itchington. This isn't just about helping those who want to download films or play games, but also local buisnesses and people working from home.

Imaging Your Past and Present

This is an exciting project organised by the archaeology department at Warwickshire County Council. The aim is to look for buildings and landscapes which are not currently protected within the planning process but which people feel are important to their communities and future generations.

People are encouraged to photograph these buildings and landscapes and upload them onto WCC's Historic Environment Record Timetrail at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/timetrail. Once photographs are on the website, staff will work with Stratford on Avon District Council to create lists of locally important buildings/landscapes which will then be consulted as part of the planning process, and is a way of getting your views heard.
