Community
Youngsters from both 'Busy Bees' pre-school group and 'Mums and Toddlers' enjoy picnics and mini-beast hunting!
A summer kid's club held over two mornings is attended by 20 children who take part in treasure hunts, art and craft, games and bug hunting!
The local Women's Institute also had a guided tour of the site and aim to sponsor the new bench to be put on site soon.
Primary School
Pupils from the Year 6 Nature Club made a video of their work on the Yellow Land. Their video has been entered into a national competition. See below...
Wildlife
Local moth enthusiasts document over 160 species of moth on the site and estimate between 350-400 species! The results can be downloaded from the 'Plants, rocks and insects' section of the website. Whilst the summer has been a bit of a damp squib, lots of butterflies have still been seen, including a second generation of Small Blue butterflies.
Landscape
The finishing touches to the Yellow Land are due to be added over the next couple of months. They include an interpretation board, a conventional bench and an eco-seat, and an art installation designed and made by local teenagers.
